We advised Cooltra on the equity investment by Francisco Riberas (Gestamp), in a deal valued at € 20 million
The Cooltra mobility company received an injection of € 20 million from the patrimonial society of the businessman and investor Francisco Riberas, thus taking over 20% of the shares of the catalan company. The operation coincides with the conversion of debt of German family offices, partners in capital of the company, for a value of € 29 M.
From Cooltra, they assured that receiving financial support from Francisco Riberas and current partners gives them “strength to continue working to improve and expand our services, as well as strengthen our European leadership and continue to grow.” The entrepreneur’s contribution has allowed Cooltra’s growth to accelerate, supported expansion into new markets and strengthened its balance sheet for possible acquisitions. Specifically, the capital is being allocated to technological development, with programmers and improvements in the application, as well as the expansion of the two business lines, both with the incorporation of more motorcycles and with the entry into new cities.
Cooltra, founded in Barcelona in 2006, is one of the main mobility providers in Europe. Its business line focuses on hourly rental of motorcycles to individuals, although it has a renting division that also includes companies and public administrations. It currently operates 30 cities in six countries (Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Austria and the Czech Republic) and has a fleet of more than 16,000 vehicles, most of which are electric motorcycles.
