Of Counsel-Tax en Across Legal since 2018, José Luis is a tax lawyer, has a Law Degree from the Complutense University, a Master of Laws in Transnational Business Practice from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, and an ADIT (Advanced Diploma in International Taxation) by the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. As a specialist in international and real estate taxation, he advises numerous Spanish and foreign companies on the tax implications of operations with an international element.
During his more than twenty years of experience, José Luis has worked in the tax departments of Uría Menéndez, of EY (where he was a partner in International Taxation and Director of the Spanish Desk in New York), and of a Luxembourg firm specialized in international taxation. In addition, he is a professor of ‘Taxation of international reorganizations’ in the Executive Master of International Taxation at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and author of several publications on international tax issues. He is also Secretary General of the Spanish Financial Law Association, a Spanish branch of the IFA (International Fiscal Association), as well as a member of the Tax Law Section of the Madrid Bar Association and a member of the International Taxation Experts Group of the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF).
