Argilla has been acquired by the giant Hugging Face. Across Legal says it has been a pleasure to accompany Argilla during its growth and, of course, during this exit, with a team formed by Ignacio Lacasa, José Luis Gonzalo and Marc Pereta.
Daniel Vila Suero, Francisco Aranda and Amélie Viallet founded Argilla in 2017. The company has become one of the leading Spanish scale ups in the field of artificial intelligence, with a focus on improving the data that AI systems need to learn.
Founded in 2016 by Frenchmen Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond and Thomas Wolf, Hugging Face is one of the highest-rated AI startups on the planet. Its platform offers a large library of open-source repositories for AI projects, which other companies use to build AI-based applications. Although it is currently based in New York, the origin of its founders explains its strong presence in Europe with offices in Paris, London, Bern, Lyon and Brest. In this sense, the acquisition of Argilla will allow the company to significantly strengthen its position in Spain.
